How to install Creality Sonic Pad on Cr-10 Smart Pro 📱

If you have a Cr-10 Smart Pro 3D printer, you know that it is one of the best cartesian 3D printers on the market, with great accuracy, speed and ease of use. But did you know that you can enhance your 3D printing experience with the Creality Sonic Pad?

The Creality Sonic Pad is a 7-inch touchscreen device that runs on Klipper, a firmware that optimizes the movement of the motors and reduces vibrations. Moreover, the Creality Sonic Pad has a wifi connection, a web interface to control your printer from any device, and a preview function for G-Code models.

In this post, I will show you how to install the Creality Sonic Pad on your Cr-10 Smart Pro 3D printer, step by step and with a video tutorial. You can follow this tutorial to install the Creality Sonic Pad on any compatible 3D Printer. You will see that it is very easy and that the results are amazing.

Step 1: Disconnect the original screen of your 3D printer

The first thing you need to do is disconnect the original screen of your 3D printer Cr-10 Smart Pro. To do this, turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Then, remove the screws that hold the screen to the frame of the printer and disconnect the USB cable that goes from the screen to the motherboard.




Step 2: Connect the Creality Sonic Pad to your 3D printer

Now that you have disconnected the original screen, it is time to connect the Creality Sonic Pad to your 3D printer Cr-10 Smart Pro. To do this, just connect the USB cable that comes with the Creality Sonic Pad to the USBI port of the motherboard of your printer. Then, place the Creality Sonic Pad on the stand I printed an stand to attach it to the printer, but I will show you in a future post.



Step 3: Configure the Creality Sonic Pad for your 3D printer

You are almost done. You just need to configure the Creality Sonic Pad so that it works properly with your 3D printer Cr-10 Smart Pro. To do this, turn on the printer and the Creality Sonic Pad and follow these steps:

  • Tap on the settings icon in the upper right corner of the screen of the Creality Sonic Pad.
  • Tap on “Printer” and select “Cr-10 Smart Pro” as your printer model.
  • Tap on “Network” and activate wifi. Then, select your wifi network and enter your password.
  • Tap on “Update” and check if there is any update available for the firmware of the Creality Sonic Pad. If there is any, download and install it.
  • Tap on “Restart” to restart the Creality Sonic Pad and apply the changes.


Step 4: Enjoy your new smart touchscreen device

Congratulations! You have successfully installed and configured the Creality Sonic Pad on your Cr-10 Smart Pro 3D printer. Now you can enjoy its features and benefits, such as:

  • Faster and smoother printing with Klipper firmware.
  • Easy control of your printer from any device with wifi connection.
  • Preview of your models in G-Code format before printing.
  • Synchronization with Creality Cloud app for more functions and resources.

In this video, you can see how I unboxed the Creality Sonic Pad, connected it to the printer, updated it to the latest version, flashed the firmware and calibrated the automatic level. You can also see how I made two prints to test it out: a first layer test and two personalized keychains. The results were stunning: the movement of the printer was smoother and faster than before.
